BlockBeats News, August 22, Cryptocurrency analyst Darkfost stated in a post that over the past 3 days, Bitcoin has surged by over 23%. With the rapid price increase, signs of market profit-taking have begun to emerge, with about 53,000 BTC flowing into major exchanges, including around 17,800 BTC transferred to Binance.
Notably, the 17,800 BTC flowing into Binance all came from short-term holders, especially investors holding for less than a day. In contrast, long-term holders of BTC for over 6 months did not transfer any BTC to Binance. This indicates that this round of fund inflow is mainly driven by short-term speculative funds, rather than structural selling by long-term holders.
Data shows that this is the largest BTC inflow into Binance since February 2026. In February of this year, short-term holders experienced a significant market sell-off. The current large-scale influx and outflow of short-term funds to and from exchanges reflect a noticeable increase in speculative trading activity, and these brief and sudden fund movements are also driving the cryptocurrency market volatility to rise again.
