BlockBeats News, May 13th, Sei Labs announced that, following a community proposal, the Sei Network has officially shut down the IBC asset transfer-in functionality. The official recommendation is for wallet users who still hold IBC assets on the Sei Network to promptly bridge out their assets, as Sei will further disable the IBC asset transfer-out function in the future.

Sei Labs stated that the Sei v6.4 version, which was upgraded in April, has added a mechanism to disable IBC asset transfers. Some wallets holding related assets have previously received airdrop reminders, prompting users to complete the bridging or swapping operation before Sei fully transitions to an EVM-only architecture.

This means that Sei is gradually phasing out its original Cosmos IBC ecosystem compatibility and moving closer to the EVM chain.
