CoinEx News: Traditional risk assets came under pressure after Broadcom’s outlook cooled expectations for the AI trade, sending semiconductor shares lower and weighing on U.S. tech sentiment. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell sharply, while Broadcom dropped more than 12% after investors reassessed the pace of AI chip demand.
The selloff spread to Asia on June 5, with South Korea’s KOSPI sliding more than 5% and the Korea Exchange triggering a sell-side sidecar after KOSPI 200 futures fell at least 5% for more than one minute, pausing program sell orders for five minutes. The move points to a broader unwind in crowded AI and semiconductor trades, which could pressure crypto liquidity if investors reduce exposure to high-beta risk assets including BTC and ETH.
