CoinEx News: On July 21, three tankers carrying Saudi crude reversed course in the Red Sea after Yemen’s Houthis threatened ships serving Saudi ports. A maritime advisory said missile and drone preparations had been reported near Bab el-Mandeb, but recorded no confirmed attacks or disruption to established routes. U.S. strikes on Iran entered an 11th night, while traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remained heavily constrained. With Hormuz already disrupted, Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline and Yanbu terminal had become its main alternative export route. The Houthi embargo now puts that route under direct pressure, leaving both Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb exposed to the same regional conflict.
Brent reached $92.85 in July 22 Asian trading after settling at $91.01, up sharply from below $72 earlier in the month. June U.S. CPI had cooled to 3.5% year over year from 4.2% as energy prices fell, but the renewed oil rally threatens to erode part of that relief, keeping inflation and risk-off pressure in focus for BTC and ETH.
