OpenAI has revised its cloud service spending forecast to $700 billion, allocating $30 billion to build a data center.

BlockBeats News, July 23rd - According to The Wall Street Journal, OpenAI is expanding the scale of its data center and increasing its spending budget in the field. Sources revealed that OpenAI has raised its projected AI expenditure by 2030 from around $600 billion earlier this year to about $750 billion. This growth reflects OpenAI's new agreements with cloud computing providers to rapidly access the massive computing power needed to develop and run AI models.

OpenAI announced on Wednesday that it will invest $20 billion to launch a data center project named "Camellia" in Effingham County, Georgia. Sashin Katthi, OpenAI's VP of Computing Strategy, stated that the company has signed a contract with Georgia Power to secure a 3.2-gigawatt power supply between 2028 and 2032, with the project's cost estimated to exceed $30 billion. This could make the facility one of OpenAI's largest data centers to date. It was reported that OpenAI has hired Brent Mayo to help ensure the progress of the data center project, who has been one of the key architects of Musk's data center construction projects.
