BlockBeats News, May 22: According to official sources, after the attack on May 15, the community has developed a clear recovery roadmap. Currently, Proposal ADR028 has been released and is awaiting node operator voting. The key points are as follows:

The protocol will first absorb the losses from this attack through the protocol's own liquidity, with the remaining portion shared by Synth holders (the specific sharing ratio is still under evaluation). During this process, the protocol's own liquidity will temporarily drop to zero, but the proposal suggests that future system revenue will be redirected to gradually replenish POL.

The GG20 TSS proposal will be temporarily retained for patching and upgrade. The trading functionality will only resume once the vulnerability is fully fixed and the network successfully completes one Churn (node rotation). In the future, the protocol will adopt a slower and more security-focused version release pace.

Nodes innocent of the attack located in the same vault as the attacker will be protected, while the attacker's node's staked RUNE will be fully seized. The recovered RUNE will be paired with the assets recovered from the affected vault, and any excess RUNE will be burned.

THORChain is offering a bounty to the attacker to encourage the return of the funds. If the funds are partially returned, the recovery plan will proportionally roll back. In addition, the protocol restates its commitment to neutrality and permissionlessness, and there will be no review of the attacker's Swap transactions after trading resumes.

Currently, node operators are voting on the overall direction and principles of the proposal. The specific numbers in the ADR are currently for reference only, and will be adjusted through the Mimir voting mechanism in the future. The protocol's primary goal is to restart the network as soon as possible, and voting in favor authorizes the development team to continue in this direction.
