BlockBeats News, June 17th, the U.S. government on Wednesday announced a $500 million grant to SandboxAQ for the development of new chemicals and materials needed for domestic semiconductor manufacturing in the United States, including alternatives to PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). This funding is part of the research funding allocated by U.S. President Trump under the Chips for America Act.

Prior to this, the initiative had provided $150 million for investment in new chip manufacturing equipment, as well as $2 billion for the quantum computing field. SandboxAQ, backed by NVIDIA (NVDA.O), was valued at $5.75 billion in April 2025 and has raised over $1 billion to date. (Golden Finance)
