BlockBeats News, May 12th, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) is scaling back its prediction market business layout. According to the latest disclosure documents, the previously high-profile prediction market product Truth Predict is currently still in the development stage and will initially be limited to a "marketing and promotion partnership" with OG.com, the U.S. prediction market platform under Crypto.com.

This statement is significantly weaker than the plan first announced in 2025. At that time, Truth Predict was described as a full prediction market service embedded in Truth Social, where users could use the platform's "Truth gem" points to redeem Cronos tokens and participate in event prediction trading related to sports, inflation, elections, and more.

Currently, Trump Media and Crypto.com have not clearly explained the specific form of the so-called "marketing partnership," and it is still unclear whether users will be able to directly complete transactions within Truth Social in the future.

The prediction market industry has seen rapid expansion recently but has also faced regulatory controversies. Donald Trump Jr., the son of former President Trump, is associated with multiple prediction market platforms, serving as an advisor to Kalshi and investing in Polymarket through his venture capital firm.

The Trump administration as a whole has maintained a relatively friendly attitude towards prediction markets. The CFTC during the Trump era revoked the investigation into Polymarket from the Biden era and consistently emphasized that prediction markets fall under federal derivatives regulation rather than state gambling regulation.

CFTC Chairman Michael Selig recently stated that the CFTC has sued multiple state governments attempting to restrict the operation of prediction markets and is collaborating with major U.S. professional sports leagues to enhance surveillance of insider trading and market manipulation.

It is worth noting that OG.com initially planned to support margin trading, allowing users to borrow funds to participate in prediction market bets, but this feature does not appear to have been formally launched yet.

In addition to Truth Predict, right-wing media Newsmax has also applied to establish its own prediction market platform, "Newsmax Markets." Meanwhile, Kalshi and Polymarket have respectively established partnerships with media outlets such as CNN, CNBC, and Fox.
