CoinEx News: Global AI competition intensified over the past week. Anthropic restored global access to Claude Fable 5 on July 1 after US export controls were lifted. xAI launched Grok 4.5 and expanded its integration with Cursor from July 6 to 8. On July 9, OpenAI publicly released the GPT-5.6 series, including its flagship Sol model, while Meta opened the Muse Spark 1.1 API to developers at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. Axios reported that Meta’s larger Watermelon model remains in training.
On July 10, SemiAnalysis argued that Meta could surpass Google within six months, citing its Scale AI deal, investment in reinforcement-learning data production, and nearly 10 GW of computing capacity. The concentrated moves by OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI and Meta show that the AI race is expanding across model capabilities, developer ecosystems and long-term infrastructure.
