BlockBeats News, May 7th, the Bitcoin TAP Protocol ecosystem project BIT has released a new roadmap, announcing a focus on the "Bitcoin Security Budget Layer" direction, exploring providing additional incentive sources for Bitcoin miners through a token issuance mechanism.
The BIT team stated that in the current TAP protocol, only the NAT token can be allocated to miners through the protocol's built-in mechanism, and the related logic is hard-coded in the protocol source code, only applicable to dmt-nat, and other DMT projects cannot access it. At the same time, the TAP protocol has not yet publicly disclosed the results of a third-party security audit.
It is reported that BIT had previously submitted an upgrade proposal to the TAP official, hoping to open up the miner subsidy mechanism for all DMT tokens to use, but the related proposal was not adopted.
According to the latest roadmap, BIT plans to fork development based on the TAP protocol and launch a new protocol framework. The new protocol is intended to support DMT projects in customizing token issuance rules and miner reward distribution through a single-line inscription, including mining pool weight distribution, independent miner reward pool, hybrid incentive models, etc., and to remove hard-coded permission designs for specific projects.
BIT stated that a third-party security audit will be completed before the new protocol mainnet goes live, and the BIT token will also participate in the subsequent development as a native token in the new protocol ecosystem.
