Token creators can now choose to use USDC instead of SOL to launch a trading pool, aiming to enhance market stability, optimize token distribution, and increase project growth opportunities. The platform stated that recently, due to Solana's price fluctuations, the threshold of the SOL-denominated bonding curve has continued to decrease. The initial market value of new tokens once dropped to around $2,000, with a bonded completion market value of about $30,000, making it easier to hoard a large number of chips at a low cost, thereby exacerbating token distribution imbalance and the "low ceiling" issue.

Pump.fun stated that the USDC trading pair will raise the threshold for high-quality projects. According to historical data, the initial market value of USDC-paired tokens is set at $4,000, with a bonded completion market value of about $58,783, to create a more stable and fair trading environment. The platform pointed out that under the USDC model, the early-stage chip acquisition cost is significantly higher: bonding completion requires about $12,161, compared to about $7,276 for SOL pairs; purchasing the first 30% of the supply requires about $1,682, higher than the approximately $998 for SOL pairs, effectively reducing chip manipulation behavior in the low market value stage.

Furthermore, Pump.fun stated that the USDC pair can reduce reliance on SOL price fluctuations, bringing a more user-friendly on-chain trading experience to retail investors, including reducing wallet balance fluctuations and lowering trading thresholds. The platform also emphasized that the existing PUMP buyback and burn mechanism will not change. 50% of the income generated from USDC and SOL pairs will still be used for programmatic buyback and burn, consistent with other platform revenues.
