BlockBeats News, June 7th, NVIDIA (NVDA.O) CEO Jensen Huang said that the company's new Vera central processing unit will use SK Hynix's storage chips, and the two companies are expected to further cooperate in the next year.
Jensen Huang told reporters outside a restaurant in Seoul on Sunday that he had dinner that day with SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won, SK Hynix CEO Lee Seok-Hee, and SK Telecom executives. He said, "Our cooperation with SK Hynix this year is very large in scale, and we are preparing for even larger-scale cooperation in the second half of this year and next year. We have launched the Vera CPU, which is a revolutionary central processor and will also use SK Hynix's DRAM memory."
Vera is NVIDIA's first independent data center microprocessor, directly competing with Intel's Xeon series, AMD's EPYC chips, and custom chips from large enterprises like Amazon's Graviton.
Jensen Huang arrived in Korea on Friday to visit partners and suppliers. He plans to meet with Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jay Y. Lee on Monday, as well as executives from Hyundai Motor Group and LG Group. He also mentioned that discussions are underway with telecommunication companies because future telecom networks will be used for artificial intelligence applications. (Golden Finance)
