BlockBeats News, June 14th, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated in an internal memo that the company has "made mistakes in the AI-centric organizational transformation process and will almost certainly continue to make mistakes in the future," but will strive to maintain organizational stability as much as possible.
Zuckerberg reiterated that Meta does not expect to have another company-wide layoff this year. Previously, in May of this year, Meta implemented a large-scale restructuring, with a global workforce reduction of about 10%, reallocating 7,000 employees to new projects related to AI workflows.
He mentioned that the company will try to find new positions for employees involved in AI model training so that some personnel can be reassigned to their original teams when necessary.
In addition, Meta plans to increase team building budgets, boost remote meeting and corporate event spending, and will host a large hackathon event in July to promote cross-team collaboration and the development of cutting-edge AI models.
Zuckerberg also noted that the company has observed issues with managers having too broad a span of control and plans to address this practice. It is reported that Meta's newly established Applied AI Engineering department adopts a flat structure, with a ratio of individual contributors to managers reaching as high as 50:1. In April of this year, Meta raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to between $125 billion and $145 billion to accelerate its AI strategy.
