BlockBeats News, June 15th - According to WSJ, artificial intelligence company Anthropic is facing a federal lawsuit alleging "Usage Quota Deception" in its high-priced Claude subscription plan.
The lawsuit, filed by Washington D.C. user Karl Kahn, seeks class-action status and applies to a group of users who have purchased the relevant services since April of last year.
The plaintiff claims that Anthropic may have exaggerated or misleadingly described the actual usable usage and restrictions in its high-tier monthly subscription plan (including the "Max 5x" and "Max 20x" packages), affecting user decisions. Currently, the lawsuit is still in its early stages and has not entered substantive litigation. Anthropic has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
Analysts believe that if this case proceeds to a class-action process, it may trigger further market attention to the "Compute Quota Transparency" of AI subscription products and potentially impose regulatory pressure on the high-end AI pricing model.
