BlockBeats News, June 27th, Binance founder CZ stated that the sharp decline in the cryptocurrency market in the first half of 2026 did not have a single reason. Geopolitical tensions, investors shifting funds to AI, and the typical four-year cycle of crypto may have collectively contributed to the continuous decline of Bitcoin and other crypto assets. Bitcoin hit a historical high of over $126,000 last October, and has since fallen by about 50%. At the beginning of this year, Bitcoin opened near $89,000, rose to just over $96,000 at one point, and then dropped to around $60,000.

In the long term, the crypto industry will continue to develop, with increasing demand for fintech as transaction volumes continue to rise. Therefore, CZ is not concerned about the industry itself or short-term price fluctuations. He mentioned that emerging industries like AI are absorbing "hot money" from the crypto industry, but this may be a positive factor in the long run. Regarding market prediction, CZ stated that the prediction market, as a tool for price discovery and liquidity provision, is rapidly growing, which is good for the public.

On the regulatory front, CZ stated that individual bills such as the U.S. "Digital Asset Market Clarity Act" are important but tactical matters and will not determine the long-term growth of the crypto industry. He hopes that the Clarity Act will pass, and believes that if U.S. legislation is delayed, other countries may move forward with rule-making first.

CZ also mentioned that if the U.S. Democratic Party regains control of at least one house of Congress after the midterm elections, they may review Trump's support for the crypto industry and his pardons of crypto executives. CZ stated that he has "nothing to hide" and is willing to cooperate if relevant parties seek information. When discussing political influence, he stated that he tries to stay away from U.S. politics, but believes that any anti-crypto individuals may now lose a significant number of votes.
