Iranian Foreign Minister: Iran-US Mutual Understanding Memorandum May Be Signed Remotely in a Few Days, Nuclear Issue to Be Discussed in Future Negotiations
  • US0%

BlockBeats News, June 13th - According to Iranian media, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi stated that if the final stage of negotiations is successfully completed, the Iran-US memorandum of understanding will be immediately signed and announced. The initial stage will be signed remotely electronically and could be achieved as soon as the next few days.

Araghchi emphasized that the agreement has not been formally signed yet, and the content may still change. If the final agreement is reached, he will provide detailed explanations of each term. He pointed out that this interim agreement is only the first step. If the agreement cannot be implemented, subsequent negotiations on the nuclear issue will not proceed, and the nuclear issue itself will be discussed in later stages.

According to Araghchi's disclosure, the US has promised in the memorandum of understanding not to wage war, not to threaten the use of force, and has committed to respecting Iran's sovereignty and non-interference in its internal affairs. He stated that this is the first time in 47 years that the US has made such commitments.

Regarding the regional situation, Araghchi stated that the interim agreement includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the US blockade on Iran, as well as ceasefire arrangements on all fronts, including the Lebanese front. He stated that Iran will not let Lebanon be isolated and without support, and the end of the Lebanon War means that Israel will withdraw from the occupied areas.

Araghchi also stated that Iran's frozen assets will be released, Iran will ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, but the future management of the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its pre-war state, and related services will incur charges. He emphasized that the sovereignty of the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and Oman, and there is "no international waterway." Iran will always retain control of the strait.

Regarding the nuclear issue, Araghchi stated that for Tehran, the preferred option for dealing with its highly enriched uranium stockpile is to dilute the relevant materials through purification. Araghchi also mentioned that hostile forces such as Israel oppose Iran's agreement with the US and stated that Iran has become stronger after the war with the US, emerging as the winner of this war.
