BlockBeats News, August 16th. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, a 12-acre estate in Hillsborough, California, was sold for $70 million. The actual buyer of the property is suspected to be Wu Yuhuai, the 31-year-old co-founder of xAI. This transaction marks the largest residential sale in Northern California so far this year.
Property records indicate that the buyer listed on the deed for the estate located at 3000 Ralston Avenue, with a main house spanning approximately 12,000 square feet, is "Daikon no Hana Capital LLC." However, the broker handling the transaction, Jia Xu, had also represented Wu Yuhuai in purchasing a Los Altos Hills home for $12 million last year. Furthermore, the LLC's managing attorney transferred Wu Yuhuai's previous residence into a family trust about a week before this transaction was completed. Wu Yuhuai is likely the actual buyer of this transaction.
Wu Yuhuai co-founded xAI with Musk and others in 2023 and was involved in the development of Grok. In February of this year, shortly after xAI was acquired by SpaceX for $250 billion in an all-stock deal, he announced his departure from xAI.
The sold estate includes a 6-bedroom main house, a guest house of approximately 4,600 square feet, as well as facilities such as a tennis court, a nine-hole golf course, a 150-seat amphitheater, a koi pond, and a 2,100-gallon saltwater aquarium. The property was initially listed for $88 million last fall, then reduced by $10 million, and eventually sold for $70 million.
